The weekend ahead.

Off to Inverloch for the weekend to visit the folks and have a Christmas dinner with extended family. It’s nice to be able to do it. Growing up we lived 4000km away from extended family. We’d come down once every two years to see them but it’s hard to appreciate it at the time. Since moving I still haven’t seen them enough but I have the typical excuses under control. Don’t have enough time, it’s so far away etc.
Well I don’t really have much time these days and it is far away so while not ideal, it’s about all I can do at the moment.
Anyway, it should be a great weekend. Leave work at 3, jump straight in the car and head down the Eastern Freeway. Woohoo!
It’s a beach town/summer holiday destination so it should be pretty busy when we get there which is good. It seemed like a bit of a ghost town during winter. Although December hasn’t impressed us with Summer sunshine and warmth yet.
Should get to try plenty of wine while down there, I picked up a couple this afternoon, and no doubt Dad’s done the same.
Now it’s 11:39pm, the bags are packed, I’ve burnt some appropriate driving music, I guess all that’s left now is a few hours of shut-eye, some painfully boring hours at work and then the road…. jack!
